Help Shape the Future of Linux Audio.
We're looking for an experienced Audio Consultant Engineer to join a global engineering team and help build, improve, and upstream the Linux audio technologies powering real-world products.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving deep technical challenges, collaborating with open-source communities, working directly with customers, and contributing to technologies such as PipeWire, WirePlumber, and ALSA.
You'll have the opportunity to influence upstream projects, design production-ready audio architectures, and help customers deliver reliable embedded Linux audio solutions.
What you'll do:
- Design, integrate, and troubleshoot Linux-based audio solutions.
- Work across multiple layers of the Linux audio stack to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
- Collaborate with customer engineering teams to develop robust technical solutions.
- Contribute to open-source projects and engage with relevant upstream communities.
- Support adjacent audio technologies and tooling where required.
Requirements:
- Strong hands-on experience with the Linux audio stack, including PipeWire, WirePlumber, and ALSA.
- Strong C programming and systems-level software development experience.
- Solid understanding of audio fundamentals including latency, synchronization, buffering, audio formats, and resampling.
- Proven ability to debug complex issues across multiple layers of Linux systems.
- Experience working directly with customers, clients, or stakeholders.
- Contributions to relevant open-source projects.
- Experience with embedded Linux or real-time Linux environments.
