DevOps Exchange @ Microsoft HQ

Vodafone, sbomify, Publicis Sapient
DevOps Exchange London is back on Thursday 24th April, and this time we’re heading to Microsoft’s Paddington HQ.
We’ve lined up three expert speakers who’ll dive into the latest breakthroughs and game changing trends redefining the DevOps landscape.
Ricardo from Vodafone will spark an open, thought provoking debate on one of the biggest topics in tech, our data. Together, we will unpack how we can harness it for our own benefit and where AI fits into the equation.
Victor from sbomify will dive into why SBOMs are essential for cybersecurity and compliance, breaking down key standards, common pitfalls, and how to integrate them smoothly into your DevOps pipeline.
Nishi from Publicis Sapient will break down how AI agents really work, what gives them their power, and how you can build and deploy them to automate complex business workflows, solo or as a team.
Our usual format will be followed, with the 3 x 20 minute talks starting at 7pm. Refreshments and drinks will be available on the night, courtesy of our sponsors LinuxRecruit!

Agenda:
6:30pm - Doors open
7:00pm - Ricardo Moreira, Principal DevOps Manager @ Vodafone
"Observability, data democracy and now AI"
Together let's discuss and debate about the usage of our “data”. How can we use it for our own benefit, and how can AI come into the picture to assist.
More than a speech, be open minded, this will be an open debate to share insights and opinions where the flow of technology is heading.

7:20pm - Viktor Petersson, Founder @ sbomify
“Securing the Supply Chain: Mastering SBOMs for DevOps and Compliance”
Explore the critical importance of Software Bill of Materials (SBOMs) in navigating today's complex cybersecurity and compliance landscape. With growing regulatory pressures from the US Executive Order on Improving the Nation's Cybersecurity, the UK's Code of Practice for Software Vendors, and the forthcoming Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), understanding and implementing SBOMs is more urgent than ever.
In this talk, we'll dive deep into how SBOMs enhance software transparency, facilitate rapid vulnerability identification, and significantly mitigate risk. We'll examine the two leading SBOM standards—SPDX and CycloneDX—highlighting their strengths and ideal use-cases, while unpacking common pitfalls in SBOM generation such as incomplete or inaccurate data, interoperability challenges, and integration hurdles within existing DevOps workflows.
Additionally, we'll showcase the latest tools and practical strategies to seamlessly incorporate SBOMs into your CI/CD pipelines and overall DevOps practices.
Bio: Viktor is the founder of sbomify, a platform designed to simplify SBOM management and streamline compliance in today’s complex cybersecurity landscape. His entrepreneurial journey began during college with YippieMove, an email migration service that laid the foundation for future successes. He went on to co-create Blotter, a Mac productivity app that reached the top 10 in the Mac App Store.
7:40pm - Nishi Ajmera, Solutions Architect @ Publicis Sapient
“Building AI agents for smarter workflows”
In this talk, I'll cut through the hype and break down how AI agents actually work, what makes them powerful, and how you can build a single agent or a crew of agents to automate complex business workflows.
Bio: Nishi Ajmera is a Solutions Architect currently working with Publicis Sapient, where she leverages her expertise in designing and implementing cutting-edge solutions that bridge the gap between technology and business needs.
