DevOps Exchange London - March

DevOps Exchange London - March

To coincide with International Women's Day, last night we held 3 concurrent events across 3 locations (London, Manchester and our first event in Downtown Toronto), all on the same evening.

With just shy of 250 attendees registered, our London event was hugely popular amongst our growing online community and has been our most popular in-person event this year, so far.

We were joined by Joon Park and Mihai Tabara from Spotify, Natalie Godec from Zencore and Shirisha Vivekanand from AWS.

All videos, recordings and associated links from the event can be viewed below.

Shirisha Vivekanand AWS

"Building Resilience through Chaos Engineering"

First up on stage we had Shirisha Vivekanand, a Solutions Architect from Amazon Web Services. Shirisha introduced to the audience the 'what, why and how' of Chaos Engineering and also the principles behind it to enable you to keep your micro services architectures up and running.

Natalie Godec @ Zencore

"Building a cloud-native data platform with security in mind"

In today's world data is king. It is everywhere, collected seemingly by everyone, yet many industries lack a good data platform. Cloud technologies enable us to build robust, scalable, and easy-to-use platforms quickly, but one might wonder whether storing sensitive data in the cloud is safe.

In this talk, Natalie explored the technical principles of securing a cloud data platform and shared great examples of this in AWS and GCP.

Joon Park and Mihai Tabara @ Spotify

"Backstage: The future of Developer Experience"

For our third and final talk of the evening, Joon Park and Mihai Tabara from Spotify shared with the audience a game changing framework, Backstage. If you are not familiar with Backstage, it's an open source framework for building developer portals, created at Spotify, donated to the CNCF, and adopted by hundreds of companies.

Again, thank you to everyone who made the event last night. If you couldn't make this one, don't worry. Our next event will be announced very soon, details of the event will be published on our Meetup page. We hope to see you at the next event!

The DevOps Exchange Community is growing, be sure to follow us on Twitter & LinkedIn to keep up to date with new locations, events and speakers.
