Senior Backend Developer

We’re partnering with an innovative technology business building a next-generation platform that uses large-scale data and intelligent workflows to help organisations understand global expertise and talent trends. They’re looking for a genuinely senior backend engineer who can come in and operate with a high degree of independence from day one.

This is a hands-on role with significant ownership and a strong focus on delivery. You’ll work across backend services, distributed systems, data pipelines and AI driven product features, taking responsibility for work from initial design through to production. The ability to unblock yourself, communicate issues early and drive tasks through to completion will be important.

The team is lean, collaborative and heavily focused on greenfield development, giving engineers genuine influence over how the platform evolves. This isn’t a ticket taking role. You’ll be expected to take ownership of deliverables, work independently, proactively raise blockers and collaborate closely with the wider engineering team to keep delivery moving.

The stack is heavily Python focused, with Azure serverless technologies, SQL based data systems, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, observability and Azure AI Foundry. You’ll work across multiple services and solve technically challenging problems, while being trusted to make sound technical decisions and deliver without heavy day to day oversight.

This is an initial 3 month contract, fully remote within the UK, and would suit a Senior Backend Developer who is comfortable working at pace, takes full ownership of their work and can operate independently in a fast moving environment. It’s a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys complex technical challenges and wants to make an immediate impact on an evolving product.
