Some roles are just jobs. Others feel like stepping into something that is quietly shaping the future.

This is one of those.

A fast growing technology company with a new base in London is building a platform that sits at the intersection of cloud, networking, and security. The details are deliberately low key, but what matters is this. Their product is already used at scale, it is solving real problems for modern businesses, and it is entering a phase where thoughtful engineering matters more than ever.

They are now looking for software developers who enjoy building things that actually get used. Not prototypes that gather dust, but systems that handle real data, real traffic, and real complexity. If you have spent the last several years deep in backend development and you like the idea of working on systems that need to be both powerful and reliable, you will probably feel at home here.

The work itself is varied in the best way. You might find yourself designing services that process large volumes of data, shaping APIs that other teams rely on, or helping extend a platform so it can support entirely new use cases. There is a strong sense of ownership, and you will be trusted to take ideas from early concept through to production. You will also be working closely with product and research teams, which means your code will have a clear purpose rather than existing in a vacuum.

The technical environment is modern without being fussy about trends. Strong backend experience is key, ideally with Java. You should be comfortable working with both relational and non-relational databases, and ideally you have already seen what happens when systems need to scale beyond the comfortable stage. An understanding of distributed systems, performance, and reliability will go a long way here.

This role will suit someone who is naturally curious. There is space to explore new technologies, challenge assumptions, and improve the way things are done. At the same time, there is an expectation that you can work independently, think critically, and take responsibility for the quality of what you build.

What makes this opportunity particularly appealing is the timing. The company is established enough to have real momentum, but still early enough that your work will have visible impact. You will not be a small cog in a large machine. You will be part of a team shaping what comes next.

If you are looking for a role where you can do meaningful engineering, work with thoughtful people, and build systems that genuinely matter, it would be worth having a conversation.
