GCP Data Engineer

Take ownership of large scale cloud data engineering in a complex scaling GCP environment. You will lead the design and delivery of next generation data solutions, joining a highly skilled team responsible for evolving a substantial data platform that powers real-time insights and critical decision making. With millions of events flowing through the platform every second, you’ll tackle engineering challenges that only emerge at true scale.

You’ll bring deep experience working hands-on across GCP, particularly BigQuery, alongside strong expertise in data modelling, orchestration tools, and infrastructure as code. You’ll be comfortable working with services such as Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Kubernetes, Cloud Functions, and IAM, and you’ll understand how to build secure, well-governed cloud environments.

You will define how data is ingested from the data lake into GCP, shaping how it is processed, stored, and analysed in BigQuery. This includes designing and optimising complex SQL and delivering data models that remain highly performant during extreme workload spikes. You’ll act as the authority on BigQuery architecture, security, and governance, mentoring teams and setting best-practice standards.

You’ll own automated pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and loading, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability across a large and rapidly evolving platform. Working closely with architects, engineering leads, and application developers, you’ll ensure every solution is scalable, resilient, and fully compliant.
