The DevSecOps Playbook

Why did you decide to write The DevSecOps Playbook: Deliver Continuous Security at Speed"

I have been consistently amazed by the benefits that DevOps can bring to organizations in speed, stability, and agility but I find that cybersecurity is often overlooked. We can get these same benefits by applying the principles of DevOps to security and I felt this is a story that needs to get out there. I have had the privilege to work across both DevOps and Cybersecurity and wanted to share some of my experience in building high performing teams for people looking to deliver secure products at speed.

Who is the book aimed at?

This book is great for anyone interested in understanding DevSecOps and how to apply it to keep businesses more secure. This book is for security leaders who want to learn more about how to drive DevSecOps transformation to build and deliver more secure products and services without impeding the flow of delivery. This book is also for security engineers who want a better understanding of DevOps and the changing security landscape as well as privacy practitioners, auditors, and governance, risk, and compliance specialists who want to understand how a fundamentally different approach to security with DevSecOps will impact the way we do business.

Why DevSecOps?

The amazing thing about DevSecOps is that it allows businesses to deliver secure applications and services without sacrificing speed. This is a challenge which technology, security, and business leaders have been struggling with for decades and finally it seems we have a solution. With ever increasing security threats, security leaders are constantly being asked to take on more. DevSecOps helps us address the growing threat landscape by building security into how we work.
