AI Exchange September Ft. Wordpay, FWD View, and Container Solutions

AI Exchange September Recap

September brought another successful session of the AI Exchange, this time hosted at Worldpay's London office. Once again, the room was buzzing, pizza was devoured, and engaging conversations were had. With a packed room and a speaker lineup that delivered practical insights and bold perspectives, this month's theme zeroed in on the realities of AI enterprise.
Our first speaker, Niloufar Zarin, (Worldpay) explored the shift from isolated AI projects to integrated enterprise AI ecosystems, where multiple AI applications work together to automate workflows, support decision making, and drive innovation. She emphasised the importance of democratising AI, not just in usage but also in development and governance, to make AI tools accessible across different teams and skill levels. She stressed that successful enterprise AI requires balancing innovation with strong governance, transparency, and risk management to operationalise AI effectively at scale.
Our next speaker was Chris Jackson, (FWD View) who drew parallels between the current rise of AI and the early days of cloud computing, warning that many organisations are falling into the same trap of expecting technology alone to drive transformation. He shared lessons from his experience during the cloud boom, noting that true success came from cultural shifts, strong collaboration, and clear alignment with business goals. Using a reflective version of the CALMS framework: curiosity, absorption, learning, memory, and safety, he highlighted the importance of embedding AI meaningfully rather than treating it as a quick fix. Chris emphasised that AI adoption is not just a technology initiative but a business wide effort that demands openness, continuous learning, and the willingness to tackle tough organisational challenges.
Our last speaker of the evening was Ian Mitell, (Container Solutions). Ian discussed the inefficiencies in how companies currently handle compliance, especially in regulated industries like banking. Based on his experience in gambling and financial sectors, he highlighted that compliance today often relies on outdated tools like spreadsheets and PDFs, which make audits slow, manual, and periodic rather than continuous. To address this, his team built an open-source tool called the Continuous Compliance Framework. It allows companies to automate and track controls in real time, using standardised formats like OSCAL. He explained how this system improves visibility across teams and third parties, and mentioned future potential for generative AI to support documentation tasks in compliance.
Huge thank you to everyone who came out and to Worldpay for hosting our September session!
