DevOps Exchange London - Domino's & Zühlke Engineering
DevOps Exchange - November
Thank you to everyone who attended our last in-person event of 2023 recently, hosted by our friends at Zühlke Group at their offices in Shoreditch.
For this event, we were joined by 2 expert speakers from the industry who both carry a wealth of experience in their fields; Patrick Hyland from Domino's and Raul Rodriguez from our hosts at Zühlke Group.
For those of you who missed the event or would like to catch up on last night's topics, we have provided some snaps below and a short synopsis from each talk with a direct link to the recording so that you can catch up on what you missed.
We hope to see you all at another DevOps Exchange soon!
Dominos
Patrick Hyland, Senior Engineering Manager @ Domino's
"Pizza Platforms, Dynamic Capabilities and SRE/GenAI"
First up, we welcomed to the stage Patrick who shared his transformation story of how Domino’s modernised their selling platform, from which was originally labelled as a ‘support function’, to a sophisticated new platform which now runs on new technical systems, under new management and with new values.
A very detailed overview of their approach and innovation management theories with lots of key takeaways (pun intended).
Zühlke Engineering
Raul Rodriguez, Lead Engineer @ Zühlke Engineering
"Preventing Deaths: DevOps' 10,000 Success"
We then invited Raul Rodriguez to the stage to take us through the process of how Zühlke Engineering built the NHS Covid -19 application, which as a result helped saved thousands of lives through the app which tracked transmissions digitally throughout the UK.
Raul explored the different companies and stakeholder involved in getting this application live, the user experience journey and how the application was deployed using Gaudi, which is based on the Ruby framework.
As always, thank you to everyone who made the event, it was great to meet so many new faces in the community. If you couldn't make it, don't worry, we plan to schedule another event very soon, details will be published on our Meetup page.
DevOps Exchange London will return in February next year, where we will be joined by multiple award-winning DevOps Legend, Gene Kim.
The DevOps Exchange Community is growing, so be sure to follow us on Twitter & LinkedIn to keep up to date with new locations, events and speakers.
