Lead Python Engineer - Risk, Scaling Start-Up, Remote Working

Lead Python Engineer for a scaling technology company who build bespoke software solutions in the insurance sector.
We are looking for a Lead Python Developer to help design and build future Python features and applications, work closely with the CTO on product strategy, define best practices, discuss system architecture, pick the right tools and technologies and mentor some of the more junior team members.
Your role will be to build a host of new features and applications, and implement new technology to improve overall performance and reliability.
You will be a senior, pivotal member of our technology team making a direct impact on the future of this companies platforms.
This is a start-up using the latest technologies and approaches in a collaborative and open working environment. You'll work alongside some fantastic technologists solving complex problems.
What you'll need to have:
  • A real desire to directly impact the business and work with key figures internally to make this product best in market
  • Strong knowledge of Python development at Senior/Lead level
  • Wider understanding of cloud infrastructure would be nice to have, specifically AWS and Azure
  • Experience with CI/CD ideal
  • Understanding of system architecture and design
  • Ability to define best practices across the team and pick the right tools for the job
  • A 'product driven' approach working towards a common goal across the team
  • The ability to identify and solve problems proactively
  • Happy to work directly with external stakeholders
  • Good communications to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
This company has always offered remote working options prior to COVID and this will continue. Offices based in Bermondsey, near London Bridge which you are able to use.
Process:
  1. Introductory call/Zoom with the CTO and/or Lead Engineer to discuss the role and how you would fit in.
  2. Take home technical task to be completed at your own convenience.
  3. Circa 1.5 hours final stage interview with all key figures.
