DevOps Engineer

This role is with a large consultancy company working on digital transformation projects in both the private and public sector. They have a very strong team of engineers and carry out a very thorough vetting process in order to ensure this high calibre of engineering is maintained. You would be joining the platform engineering team in a very hands on role which will see you working with modern platform development and cutting edge tooling.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for leading teams to design, automate, build and operate major components as part of a digital service platform. The environment is fast-paced and challenging, so it is important for you to make rational, well-informed decisions. In return for your hard work and expertise, you will be learning about new technologies and approaches. All the while you will be surrounded by quality engineers who will help you to learn, develop and grow.

There is no old school infrastructure or on-prem to cloud migrations which may be common practice in other consultancies. This consultancy are actually working on the largest kubernetes implementation in the UK with around 50,000 pods. Consequently they are using a lot of tools such as Helm for deployment, Kops and EKS in this current project. Your experience with cloud (AWS/Azure), Kubernetes, Docker and Terraform are key skills we are looking for. Any experience with Ansible, Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines will also be beneficial and sought after.
