We have an opportunity to work in heart of Surrey within a Leading Research Department.

This is a fantastic opening for an ambitious Engineer looking to gain exposure to High-Performance Computing, Big Data, Cloud and Infrastructure as Code in the Surrey Area. Ideally you will be someone from a Linux Systems background who wants to diversify and learn some of the newest and most up to date technologies on the Market.

The demand for High performance computers is constantly rising as standard computers are inefficient in fulfilling the demands for high-end applications. In effect this opens the opportunity for Engineers like yourself, to take advantage of this opportunity, making this position a walkway for you in to a growing industry. Universities, Research Departments and Academic Institutes across the UK are invested in the capabilities of High Performance Computers, so you will be able to get hands on with the machines themselves.

You are Somebody who wants to crack all the IT challenges a world-class scientific community can chuck at them. You will work within a Research Computing Services team within the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences. Alongside working with their world class high performance computer you will be responsible for the development and systems administration for the research infrastructure.

The role provides an opportunity to work within a dynamic scientific computing environment and offers attractive benefits, training and good opportunities for career progression. You will be part of a close-knit and experienced team which are responsible for the development and system administration of research IT infrastructure, with a particular focus on HPC, high capacity storage, Cloud (both on-premise and Public) and any future systems!
