SRE Manager

Specialism
SRE
-
Job type
Permanent
-
Location
London
-
Salary
£100,000 - £120,000 per annum
You’re a hybrid, and a bit of a freak of nature. You can manage and mentor great engineers but still somehow find the time to jump into the coal face with your team.
It’s not another disruptive fintech startup though is it, Tony? Well, actually yes.
An overused term, but how would it feel to use your years of expertise to genuinely take on the corporate behemoths in the financial world?
You’ll build a new SRE team from the ground up, and help slice through the financial space like a hot knife through butter. Join Microsoft they said, get a safe career at Oracle they said. But you didn’t. You gravitated away from the safe corporate world towards the roguish, rugged, chaotic start-ups.
You’re a great manager, but it’s likely you’ll dislike authority or set structure. This role isn’t the safety net of NASA, it’s Disneyland for DevOps. You’re structured but an unstructured approach will help you build one of the best engineering functions in London, and you will take pride in the work they’ll produce.
Technology wise you’ll have the opportunity to work for a team with a pure SRE focus, and the opportunity to build on your experience around Configuration Management, Containers (Docker), Microservices, Continuous Delivery/Integration and Cloud technology. You’ll liaise with stakeholders from all divisions, and use your business savvy to ensure great wins for the company.
