Kubumulonimbus
Whatever it is, you've tried saying it in every possible variation, but you still haven't had the opportunity to use the bloody thing.
The problem you face, is companies hiring for Kubernetes, want real world experience and folk who have already/are already using it...
So how the hell do you get experience with Kubernetes?
A) Sit and wait for your current company to implement it, which isn't looking like anytime soon
B) Pretend you have experience, pay your mate Dave from Google to take the tech test screening, then turn up Day 1 and hope for the best
C) Kidnap Dave, nick his access pass, make a Dave mask and head into the Google office
D) Join a company willing to invest in their staff, specifically around Kubernetes
If C is actually looking the more feasible option than A, then we have good news for those not wanting to head to Kuberjail.
You'd be part of an Engineering team who are building a huge standardised platform across 15 different geographical regions, with Kubernetes at the core and based on AWS.
You'd also work at huge scale (over 100million monthly visitors) for a team who have set themselves the envious task of putting over 100 websites (currently each doing whatever they like!) and putting them onto the standardised platform. It's revolutionary, and you can be part of it.
The most exciting part, is THEY WILL TRAIN YOU ON KUBERNETES, along with letting you loose on their production based Kubernetes stack.
You'll have well rounded technical expertise across CI/CD, Cloud and Platfor Engineering. You'll understand automation along with the full development lifecycle. You can program using something like Go or Python and most of all you'll have ideas and vision on technical challenges.
If you have the right mindset to learn, and love a technical challenge then to be considered please get in touch with me asap (no CV necessary)
