Want an opportunity where you can bring your ideas, vision, and grow a team? This opportunity will give you that but I'll be honest, this role isn't for everyone. This is a significant challenge, but for the right leader, it could be the most rewarding opportunity.
If you’re looking for a company where everything is already perfectly structured, systems are modern, and your role is simply maintenance and growing a team, this might not be your cuppa tea. BUT… if you see complex, legacy infrastructure and high technical debt and don’t shy away from a challenge, but instead see a massive opportunity, you are exactly who we need.
We’re looking for someone confident in their ability to conduct a thorough architectural audit, define and implement a modernisation roadmap, and build the platform of the future.
This is your chance to bring your ideas, your vision, and truly make an impact. You’ll be joining a very profitable SaaS company with a global client base, including Twitter and Shopify. They use cloud native, certificate-based authentication instead of traditional passwords. They are a company who grow carefully and strategically, investing where it counts, even after raising £50M+, which is an approach that’s helped make them so successful.
As Head of Platform Engineering, reporting to the CTO, you will have full ownership. You will define the architecture and reliability of the entire platform, driving the shift from legacy infrastructure to a modern EKS-based microservices platform.
Your mandate is immediate: audit current systems, outline the roadmap, and build and grow your own SRE/DevOps team in the UK. Ideally, you've successfully driven this platform modernisation and team-building at a SaaS or scale-up company before, and strong AWS experience is essential. In return, you'll be significantly rewarded, gaining substantial stock options that give you a direct stake in the long term success of the business. You'll also enjoy the full flexibility to work remotely anywhere in the UK.
If this sounds like something you'll be open to hearing more details about, apply below or send me an email on ethan@linuxrecruit.co.uk.
