£70,000 - £85,000 per annum
Imagine having 30million website hits per year. But 29million come within the summer months.
In July you'll have 500,000 hits in one evening, and in November you'll have 5.
Now imagine you're still using bare metal infrastructure hosted by a 3rd party hosting company. You're paying for infrastructure to cope with 30million hits, which is being used by one man and a dog in the winter.
The challenge is huge. We're giving the opportunity for someone to drag a privately owned ecommerce company into the 21st century.
You'll have the initial opportunity to provide an internal audit. A DevOps Healthcheck. This is before implementing a scalable solution to help with the companies ambition of being a global leader in their industry.
You'll help them adopt and move to a complex cloud platform. Secondly, you'll be pivotal in a Kubernetes adoption (obviously!), thirdly due to the unique nature of the traffic, implement a comprehensive monitoring and metrics platform.
The tech stack is already interesting, they're using Gitlab, Cloudflare, Docker and more. But they need someone with significant vision and gravitas to
You will also WORK FULLY REMOTELY. The talented engineering team are distributed globally. As long as you can jump on a zoom when need be, respond to Slack, they don't care where you are. Some of the tech team go into the London office every Wednesday, but you don't have to.
We need someone self motivated, and committed to turning a family feel ecommerce company, into a global main player. It's a great opportunity for anyone interested in Cloud, DevOps, Scheduling and Orchestration technology.
