AI Exchange April ft. SkyScanner, AWS, Snyk

AI Exchange April
Join us on Wednesday 2nd April for the second AI Exchange event, hosted by AWS in their amazing Shoreditch office.
We welcome to the stage three companies that are shaping the future of Artificial Intelligence; Skyscanner, Snyk and our hosts at AWS.
Marcelo from Skyscanner will be diving into how AI driven personalisation depends on high quality data. Andrea, from our hosts AWS, will cover how organisations can break free from PoC purgatory, the common AI adoption trap where businesses struggle to move from experimentation to real life impact. Finally Joe from Snyk will then explore whether AI models, are as vulnerable to manipulation as humans.
The full agenda can be found below. Doors open at 6:30pm with talks starting at 7pm sharp.
We have a tight capacity limit of 120 for this event. RSVPs will be open at 10am on Friday 21st on Meetup, so please make a note and be quick to register.
RSVP on Friday here.

Agenda:
Marcelo Vilela, Principal Product Manager @ Skyscanner
"Data in the Era of AI: Enabling Personalisation and User-Centric Experiences"
AI is transforming how users interact with digital products, but its success depends on high-quality data. This talk explores the role of data in building effective AI-powered personalisation and conversational interfaces. We will discuss challenges in understanding user behaviour, the importance of identity resolution, and strategies for leveraging behavioural signals to create consistent and meaningful experiences. Attendees will gain insights into how AI can drive engagement by delivering relevant, timely, and context-aware interactions.
Bio: Marcelo is a Principal Data Product Manager with a focus on enabling personalisation and user-centric experiences. With expertise in building robust data foundations, identity resolution, and behavioural insights, they help internal teams unlock value from data.
Andrea Bureca, AI/ML Leader @ AWS
"Cracking the AI adoption Paradox"
As GenAI presents unparalleled opportunities for innovation, capitalising on these is far from straightforward. Organisations often find themselves in a paradoxical situation, which is common when adopting new, disruptive technologies. They must invest in AI to understand its applied potential and decide on a course of action, yet they need a clear business case and roadmap before committing resources. As a result, most of AI project are stuck in the so-called ‘PoC purgatory’. How to overcome that?
Joe Bollen, Staff Product Security Engineer @ Snyk
"The Psychology of Prompt Injection: AI’s Social Engineering Problem"
This talk investigates whether AI language models, like the ones used in chatbots like ChatGPT, share the same vulnerabilities that make humans prone to manipulation. Focusing on AI security, it examines real-world examples of prompt injection attacks—where clever language tricks force an AI to reveal hidden information or act against its rules. The presentation draws clear parallels to common social engineering methods and shows how slight changes in phrasing can compromise an AI’s integrity and security.
*AI Exchange events are currently being scheduled across the whole of 2025, if you're interested in getting involved with either talking or hosting, please get in touch to be considered.
