It's official, the first ever DevOps Exchange Bournemouth was a huge success.
For the first event, DOXMOUTH was kindly hosted by our good friends LinuxRecruit, at their new home in THIS Workspace in central Bournemouth. We had a great first line up, and were joined by around 60 fellow DevOps Enthusiasts.
Talk 1 - Painless Route to Production by Dan Potepa @ Lush Digital
A tech focused look behind the scenes of Lush's new multi channel e-commerce system, built from the ground up. Embracing new technology and methodologies. We'll look at making the journey from git push to production deployment as painless as possible with "Potepa's practically perfect production pipeline!"
Bio: Dan Potepa is an operations engineer at LUSH Digital based in Poole. He has experience in a variety of industries, from outdoor education and live music production to java development for a global retail enterprise. Keen to share experiences and educate wherever possible, to anyone who'll listen!
Talk 2 - Continuous Culture Jorge Cruz Lambert @ Siemens Mobility
DevOps is usually implemented following tools trends, causing friction between departments. For DevOps to be successful the change comes with a culture shift.
Bio: Jorge started working as a Backend Engineer for a space company in Spain, then he moved to Poole to work in WDS a Xerox company in a Extreme Programming and Agile environment. He is currently working in Siemens Mobility as a Lead Software Architect enjoying Poole and its great summers. His hobby is Scuba diving so he is always looking to spend some holidays in a boat diving for a week.
Talk 3 - DevSecOps an Introduction by Mark Davison @ Ronin IT Consulting
An overview of DevSecOps, where it’s come from and why it’s relevant.
Bio: Mark Davison is a security consultant at Ronin IT Consulting. He has worn many IT hats over the last decade and is currently studying for his OSCP.
